September the Month of The Sapphire

First Sunday in September

The birthstone for September births is the Sapphire. Traits of many September people are truth, insight and constancy. The last month of Summer and the first to start the Fall season. Labor day is the Holiday celebrated the first Monday of September to honor the workers in America. It is a Federal Holiday and many consider it the last Summer party day before the colder weather creeps in. Shopping and barbecuing is what many Americans do to celebrate. Unlike other Holidays, no rituals are followed, just closing down and cleaning up for the Fall to come.

Sunday, September 9, 2018 is Grandparents Day. The first Sunday after Labor Day was proclaimed Grandparents’ Day by Jimmy Carter in 1978. Grandparents Day is a day for celebrating the connections between the generations.
